Today, I had another call “Am I too old to travel?” We live in a young society with travel brochures displaying fit groomed ‘seniors’.
To travel, you need attitude, organization and logic in packing. Access your carrying luggage, and tour ing physical ability in keeping up with the group. Don’t forget a selective diet, and of course strength-A resistance to your family’s opinions!
Remember, you are a person, not just a senior. Age is notahandicap! There more options for you now than in the past. Younger travelers are restricted by impatience, selfishness, excessive alcohol or exercise!! NOT US!!!
GET ORGANIZED AND MENTALLY TOO!!!
Do not apologize for being a senior. Walking is required on most trips, but there are programs to facilitate your transfers and excursions. If you feel unstable walking on cobble stone streets, don’t sign up for hiking or biking!!! Say ”May I skip the walk and meet the group?”
Get organized: Pack lighter -black is good! HAVE A SUITCASE THAT ROLLS, but don’t stuff it with your entire closet!
Health – Diet: Tour companies address special diets. Don’t apologize for a diet, hearing loss, or blood sugar monitor. Arrange medicines, tickets and documents efficiently IN YOUR CARRY-ON BAG!.
Our experience is 26+years of travel. We realized a need for an accessibility programs, and developed them for Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. We arrange transfers throughout Florida with our vehicles, and tour guides, in any language.!!! Please view our suggested programs/tours on our website. All tours are NOT recommended for the wheelchair bound.
AND FINALLY – TAKE OUT TRAVEL INSURANCE to cover cancellations before, and missed flights during your travel adventure Cruise line insurance ONLY covers the cruise. They can dump you anywhere that has an ER facility.
