It took many years to create the aura of Little Havana which exists today. The immigrants of Cuba had a huge influence in the development of Miami-Dade County, as we took in 350,000 people within the 10 years before and after the revolution.

Miami graduated 60 years of students, fully bilingual in English / Spanish and Portuguese. NOW every language of the world participates in our Miami-Dade heritage, including Haitian Creole.

Little Havana was once the temporary home of our US military during WWII on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean from Miami to Boca Raton. There they practiced the invasion and liberation of the Pacific islands and the conquering of Japan.

Visit the Bay of Pigs and Cuban Memorials, the Ceiba tree park with its fascinating story.

Moving on to the open-air fruit and vegetable market, tobacco shops, and of course Domino Park. Listen for the vibrant Latin music, and stop for a cafecito, a Cuban coffee, or a delicious Cuban Sandwich. Yum!!!
